A leading concessionaire in the San Francisco Bay Area was selected by the Bay Area Rapid Transit Authority to provide outdoor convenience store kiosks at commuter train stations. MFI designed, fabricated and installed the pre-constructed building for use in the Pleasant Hill commuter station of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).

The commercial prefab buildings range in size from 440 sq. feet up to 1,200 sq. feet. MFI designed the floor plan based on the customer’s over all requirements, equipment needs, and Contra Costa County Health Department Regulations. The purpose of the small outdoor convenience store kiosks is to provide commuters with: beverage service, food service, ATM, video rentals and other retail services tailored to the needs of commuters.

The pre-fabricated building arrives in rolling sections, kitted and ready to be erected on location. Design features include integrated HVAC, electrical, pre-finished interior walls, slat-wall for merchandising, pass through windows, ADA self-closing doors, roll down security, and cabinetry with solid surface counter tops.

The attractive exterior includes illuminated outdoor signage, backlit awnings, anodized aluminum structural components, durable polished stainless steel wall panels, and wall mounted illuminated movie poster displays.

This MFI customer enjoyed the added opportunity of seeing and testing the pre-fab building in the MFI factory, prior to disassembly and kitting for direct shipment to the train station location.
